Our Products

The polypropylene products produced by HMC Polymers are the basic building blocks used to manufacture countless everyday goods such as consumer products, fresh food packaging, automotive and electrical components, durable textiles, medical applications, pipe systems and many others.

The main types of PP manufactured and marketed by HMC Polymers are:

Moplen Homopolymers (Homo)
Homoploymer grades exhibit high heat resistance and good rigidity which allows their use in a vast range of general purpose and specialty applications.

Moplen Impact Copolymers (HECO)
Impact Copolymer grades are made by incorporating rubbers into the polymer matrix and are extremely resilient materials with an outstanding combination of low temperature impact and stiffness.

Moplen Random Copolymers (RACO)
Random Copolymers are made by introducing comonomers into the polymer chain and therefore provide improved optical properties. They are used by customers in applications such as packaging where good transparency is required.

Adstif
Adstif specialty grades provide an enhanced balance of impact, stiffness and heat distortion temperature (HDT) versus standard polypropylene grades.

Clyrell
Clyrell polypropylene grades are especially characterized by improved optical properties vs. conventional PP types and are available for a wide range of applications.

Purell
The industry-leading healthcare product and service concept offering consistency of formulation, continuity of supply, and compliance with regulatory standards, i.e. EU or US pharmacopeia.

Expanded Product Capabilities
By expanding the range of polypropylene’s properties, HMC Polymers continues to reinvent and increase the possible applications where PP may be used.

Spherizone extended product properties

These include the replacement of existing plastics or other traditional materials with superior products offering benefits including cost, processing, optics, impact resistance, light-weighting, recyclability and aesthetics.

New and improved PP products continue to be developed by leveraging the state-of-the-art process technologies driving our production; in particular, Spherizone. This process allows development of products that are not attainable using conventional polypropylene technologies.

These enhanced properties include:
  • Combined stiffness of a homopolymer with the transparency and processability of a random copolymer
  • Very high melt strength materials
  • New heterophasic copolymers combining very high stiffness with outstanding low temperature impact resistance
  • Combined transparency and low temperature impact resistance

HMC Polymers continuously focuses its product portfolio to deliver targeted solutions that respond to and anticipate the needs of our customers and new trends in today’s dynamic business environment.

Primary Applications

HMC Polymers' product application markets

Consumer
Demanding applications used in daily life. Mainly ready-to-use products in which durability and aesthetics are essential properties. HMC PP grades deliver enhancements at every stage of the production and end-user chain, including: superior cost/performance ratio, good finish and colour, and excellent clarity.

Film

PP grades for CPP (Cast PP), BOPP (Biaxially Oriented PP), IPP (Water Quenched Blown Film) and AQBF (Air Quenched Blown Film) enabling converters to produce film with good moisture and oxygen barrier, puncture resistance, stiffness, sealing performance and transparency – as cost-effectively as possible.

Industrial
Used by customers for a variety of industrial applications including: domestic appliances, automotive and storage batteries, compounds for automotive parts and appliances as well as chemical apparatus engineering.

Medical
Purell PP grades for the medical market are made under specific manufacturing procedures and offer consistency of formulation, continuity of supply, and are certified according to regulatory standards such as US Pharmacopeia, European Pharmacopeia and Drug Master File listing supporting the use of the resins in medical and pharmaceutical applications.

Pipe
Used by customers for the production of sanitary and sewage piping systems due to outstanding performance capabilities including: high resistance to temperature and pressure variations, durability, light weight, chemical and corrosion resistance, low noise transmission, flexibility and dimensional stability.

Rigid Packaging
A comprehensive portfolio of food contact approved PP resins for rigid packaging applications providing a cost efficient production. HMCs grades also offering exciting new levels of clarity and grades with an outstanding balance of properties required for caps, closures, pails or blow moulded bottles.

Textiles & Fibres

PP grades delivering fibre performance for today’s high-tech fabrics. Including resins for spunbond applications such as sorbents, insulation, industrial filtration, hygienes and medical. Our resins for spunbond provide superior spinnability, fine fibres at maximum throughput, high strength grades and fabric uniformity.
